We are a socio-economic organization and our regulations explicitly bar us from working on political, security, religious, or state-related matters. We work across the political spectrum, with significant achievements under both right-wing and center-left governments. In practice, much of our work involves engaging with the coalition, since we are a pragmatic organization focused on real progress for the public, and progress in the Knesset usually depends on the coalition’s majority.

We also do not align with the left or right on economic and social issues. For each issue we take on, we research carefully and assess what will best serve the public. Our approach draws on tools from both sides of the political spectrum, depending on the situation. This may involve measures such as introducing market competition or implementing regulations and budgets, depending on the circumstances.

Lobby 99 is the largest continuous crowdfunding initiative in Israel. Every shekel we receive, from the first to the last, comes from the public and goes toward serving the public. We do not accept funding from foundations or commercial entities, ensuring that our organization remains free from outside financial influence.

Every shekel from membership fees goes directly to our work, above all to the team that makes the project run. We invest in the mission, not in fancy offices or large advertising campaigns. Our budget is transparent and subject to approval by all project members through an annual voting process conducted at the beginning of each year. Once approved, the budget is published on our website. Furthermore, our annual reports, which are submitted to the Registrar of Associations, are also available on our website. As an organization that pushes for government transparency, we hold ourselves to the same standard.

Our name reflects our commitment to representing the 99% of the public who do not have dedicated lobbyists in the Knesset. Conventional lobbyists typically serve the interests of a small few, often less than 1% of the population. We exist to do the opposite: to advance the economic interests of the broader public, rather than the interests of wealthy families like the Ofers or the Arisons.

Paying monthly membership fees gives you a say in our work, including a vote on the issues we take on. But money does not buy ownership of the decision: every vote carries equal weight, no matter the amount contributed. The issues themselves are filtered against clear criteria from the start, so that only matters serving the broad public interest reach the ballot.

Lobby 99 members are people who contribute a monthly membership fee (of any amount). In return, they shape the organization’s activities and the causes we champion, as well as having a say in the organization’s annual budget. Members can propose topics for consideration and take part in votes held several times a year. Through these votes, members shape decisions inside the organization and in turn, help shape policy at the national level. For more details on how to propose topics and vote, please refer to this page.

Yes, you can make a one-time donation to support the Lobby’s work. A one-time gift does not come with the full benefits of membership, including voting rights.

That said, our goal is to build a stable and significant project with predictable funding and structured work plans.Monthly membership is what makes this possible, so we encourage you to consider joining as a member rather than giving once.

We’d be sorry to see you go, but of course, you can cancel your membership and monthly payment easily and swiftly by sending a message to our email address or using our cancellation form. Your Lobby 99 membership will be promptly terminated.

Yes. You can join by setting up a recurring bank transfer from your account to ours. Contact us for further details.

Towards the end of 2018, we obtained the necessary management permit and Section 46(a) recognition. This recognition acknowledges donations to Lobby 99 for tax refund purposes for individuals meeting specific criteria. Consequently, all contributions and donations made from this point forward are eligible for tax benefits, and you can submit your receipts to the income tax authorities. To streamline the receipt collection and submission process, we send you an annual email that compiles all the receipts for that tax year.

Yes, of course – you can increase your contribution at any time. Simply email us with your full details and the updated amount, and we’ll process the change promptly and confirm by return email once it’s been completed.

There’s no screening process or special criteria to join. Every member has an equal voice in the initiative, regardless of how much they choose to contribute on a monthly basis. We welcome anyone who wants to take part and help strengthen our impact.
